Home Care

Visiting Nurses Home Care is a private duty nursing service licensed by the New York State Department of Health to provide skilled nursing services, home health aide and personal care services to clients and their families in 18 counties in Northeast New York.

We are a sister corporation of the Visiting Nurse Association of Albany, a certified home health agency which has served the home health care needs of the Capital area for over 120 years. In 1996 our agency received accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health-Care Organizations (JCAHO). As a member of the Albany Visiting Nurse Home Care Services Group we share an affiliation with Albany Medical Center. Visiting Nurses Home Care is a member of the NYS Health Care Providers Association and the Home Care Association of NYS.

Visiting Nurses Home Care was created to compliment the care that is delivered by the VNA of Albany and other health care providers by allowing a means for continued service to the patient who is not eligible for Medicare covered services.

Our services are provided in your home, or on a private duty basis for patients in a hospital or nursing home. Medicaid, Personal Care and Extended In Home Services for the Elderly programs are available in most counties.

How Service is Arranged:

Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M EST. After hours calls are coordinated through our telephone exchange.

Our Service Coordinator will ask you questions about the type of service you are interested in and will arrange for coverage by matching your needs to the most qualified health care professional. Service is provided on an hourly basis for most skill levels. Live-in service is available for home health and personal care aides.

Our Nursing Supervisor will arrange to meet with you in your home to develop a plan of care most suited to your needs. Your physician will be contacted a necessary for further orders.

Our Staff:

Visiting Nurses Home Care employs only fully qualified health care professionals. Each of our employees is carefully screened, reference checked, and tested for their skill levels before they are considered for employment. Each employee has had a complete physical and is fully insured for your protection. Criminal background checks are completed on all employees.
